They should have been forward thinking and realizing there would be an issue with their ordering schedule and put in place a plan B on Monday. She advised they order on Tuesdays and would have milk on Wednesday. (This was not the older lady who worked the breakfast on the other days who was friendly.) I asked about it at the front desk when leaving a little later and she explained they had a large sport team come in over the weekend and ran out of milk after their stay. When I asked where the milk was, the young clerk working the breakfast said “we are out of milk” and didn’t offer any explanation, a very curt and rude answer. Breakfast issues – Out of milk - on Tuesday morning 3/28 they were out of milk. It made me wonder what else wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. I use slippers in a hotel and from the minute I checked into the room they stuck to the floor. The room itself looked clean, but even the floors in the room were sticky. We came back after dinner and the floors were still sticky and they remained sticky until Wednesday morning. When I mentioned the dirty lobby floors as we left for dinner Monday night, the gal said they would be taking care of it. (Looking back to my August ’22 review, it looks like dirty floors was an issue then too!) This was in the main lobby area, the lodge area, down the halls as well as in the rooms. Floors – they were sticky and went that way for nearly 2 days. The right elevator has part of the handrail missing and a screw sticking out which is a safety hazard. Issues – Maintenance - Both elevators jerk quite noticeably with initiation of the lift or lowering. I had numerous issues during my stay, but to be fair the staff were all generally very nice and hospitable, it just seems like they aren’t set up for successful guest satisfaction. Either from other guests or the fairly nearby highway, so you should be able to grab a good night’s rest. The bed is uncomfortable to me, and I woke up often each night - but thankfully it was not due to noise. There is space to spread out and a nice kitchen area. The few good notes – the room is comfortably laid out and offers pretty much what you need. The management and owner need to correct the direction, or this place will be run to ground like all the other hotels up and down the I-75 corridor. The hotel is now only a year old and is already looking and feeling way older than its age. ![]() My most recent stay was approximately 7 months after my first stay the prior August and this place is not nearly as impressive at this point. Naturally, when it was time to visit the area again 3/27 – 3/31 of 2023, I didn’t even look at other properties and selected this hotel based on the prior good experience. It impressed me enough as a first Homewood stay to seek out other Homewood properties since then for business travel. At that time, prior review rated 5 out of 5. My first stay was in August of 2022 and the hotel at that time was only 5 months old.
